About the NerdMiner NerdQaxe++

The NerdQaxe++ is a four-chip open-source home miner that builds on the Bitaxe design ethos — same open firmware lineage, same focus on quiet domestic operation — but scales up to roughly the highest hashrate you can hit with a single-board, air-cooled device you'd actually want to live next to. It's aimed at the home miner who has outgrown a Gamma and wants meaningfully better odds per unit of rack space, without moving to an industrial Antminer that turns a spare room into a wind tunnel.

At approximately 4.8 TH/s and 75 watts, the NerdQaxe++ runs at about 15.6 J/TH. That's slightly less efficient per terahash than a Bitaxe Gamma — the trade-off for running four chips on one board at higher clocks — but the raw hashrate is four times larger, which matters far more than the small efficiency gap when you're measuring expected time to a block. At $0.12/kWh it costs about $6.50 a month in electricity. For most home miners with a standard outlet and a moderate electricity rate, that's well inside the background-noise zone of a monthly budget.

The NerdQaxe++ is a SHA-256 device, so it can mine Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, BSV, eCash, and other SHA-256 chains. Its real advantage over a Gamma is that four times the hashrate means four times the probability of landing a block in any given window on lower-difficulty SHA-256 coins — which substantially improves short-term expected value on alternative chains. The live cross-coin ranking on the calculator ranks every supported SHA-256 coin by expected value for this exact device, so you can see where 4.8 TH/s currently pays best without running the arithmetic yourself.

Setup is identical to the rest of the Bitaxe family: flash the open firmware, point the device at a solo pool, supply your payout wallet, done. Active cooling is louder than a Gamma but still well under a typical household fan. If you want to step down in cost and power draw, the Bitaxe Gamma runs a single chip at ~1.2 TH/s and 15W; if you want to step up from here, most home miners run multiple NerdQaxe++ units on the same pool rather than jumping to industrial hardware. For automated "when should I switch coins" guidance, SoloOdds Pro handles the watching so you don't have to babysit the calculator.
